The breast may be &#8220;pear&#8221; shaped in the milder forms while in more severe cases it has a &#8220;tube&#8221; shape. Apart from the aesthetic concern, there are often functional issues as well, since these women may be unable to breastfeed and frequently experience nipple infections.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\">Treatment is surgical and can be performed under local or general anesthesia. During the procedure, the continuity of the milk ducts and the ability to breastfeed are preserved in most cases.
