Cookie policy

This policy explains what drpapaioannou.gr stores in your browser, why, and how you can change your choice. It complements the “Privacy policy” and applies article 4(5) of Greek Law 3471/2006 and the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, “GDPR”).
Who is responsible?
The controller is the company “Παπαϊωάννου Ιδιωτικό Ιατρείο Πλαστικής Χειρουργικής ΙΚΕ” (Papaioannou Private Plastic Surgery Practice, private company), with Dr Prodromos Papaioannou, Plastic Surgeon, as its doctor.

What are cookies and local storage?
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Local storage (localStorage) is a similar space in the browser that stays on your device and is not sent automatically to any server. The law treats them the same way: anything strictly necessary for the website to work is allowed without consent, while everything else needs your consent.
What does the website use?
Without your consent, the website uses only what is strictly necessary for it to work. With your consent, and only for the choices you accept in the cookie banner, it also uses Google Analytics, to count visits and see which pages are useful (statistics), and advertising cookies from Google and Meta, to measure whether our adverts lead to enquiries (advertising). We do not send your name, email or phone number to these tools. If you reject, Google receives only signals without cookies that do not identify you (Google Consent Mode), so that visits can be estimated in total.

“My plan”
The procedures you add to “My plan” are stored only in your own browser, under the key drp_plan. Only the procedure identifiers are stored, with no name, email or any other personal detail. None of this reaches us until you fill in and submit the form to receive your plan. The Privacy policy explains what happens to the details in that form.
Content from other companies
Some pages include content from other companies, such as Google Maps maps and embedded videos, for example from YouTube. This content loads only if you accept it in the cookie banner (“Accept all”, or “Maps and videos” under “Choose”). Until then, a simple box is shown in its place and none of these companies receives anything from your device.
If you accept, these companies may set their own cookies and process data such as your IP address under their own policies. They are responsible for that themselves, and we suggest you read their privacy policies.
How can you change your choice?
You can change your choice at any time from the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. Rejecting is as easy as accepting. If you withdraw your acceptance, content from other companies will no longer load and statistics and advertising cookies will no longer be used; cookies those companies have already set can be deleted in your browser settings.
You can also delete all of the website’s data in your browser settings. This will also clear your “My plan” list, and the cookie banner will appear again.
Server logs
Like every website, the server records technical details such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested. These are not cookies; we use them only to keep the website secure and working properly, and they are deleted automatically once they are no longer needed for that purpose.
Changes to this policy
If anything the website uses changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. If something is added that needs your consent, we will ask you again through the cookie banner. For any question, write to info@drpapaioannou.gr.
